This piece was created from silver sheet and wire, made entirely by hand. With a thick bezel, this beautiful juicy ruby is flanked by 3mm rubies to each side. It's beautiful in any light, but shines the most under the sun, where it shows its crisp 6-pointed asterism. Fluoresces under UV light.

Ruby is in the corundum family of minerals, which at a 9 on the Mohs scale is only less durable than diamond. All colors of corundum are considered sapphire besides a very select few pinks and reds - the rubies. Ruby is the birthstone for July.
