Tourmaline and Sterling Silver Lily Pad French Twist Pin 

Originating as a big ol' chunk of silver scrap, this lily pad features hand-engraved veins, a beautiful rosecut Tourmaline to reference the spring green of its leaves, and a bubbly back. The pins themselves are slightly textured so as to hold both fine or coarse hair well. 

Tourmaline is an aluminum borosilicate and is one of the most widely used gems in fine jewelry besides sapphire, beryl and diamond. Tourmaline carries interesting electrical properties such as piezoelectricity and pyroelectricity which speak to its ability to build electrical charge from pressure or heat.

Always completely hand-fabricated, never cast, CAD or pre-fab.
